So I haven’t posted anything in a while due to starting a new job, so I thought I’d start back with something simple but yummy, Cherry Cake. I’ve had cherry cake lots of time but this was the first time using this recipe, and I was so pleased with how it turned out, as were my family! So here’s how it’s done.
- Preheat oven to 160◦ and grease a large cake tin and line with greaseproof paper.
- Beat together the sugar and margarine until smooth and creamy.
- Beat eggs into the mixture one at a time.
- Add in the two different flours, salt, baking powder and ground almonds and mix.
- Then add your chopped glacé cherries make sure it’s mixed well to make sure the cherries are spread all throughout the cake.
I chopped mine into quarters. - Pour into your cake tin and bake in the oven for an hour and 25mins.
- Take out of the oven when it’s golden brown and slightly shrinking from the sides.
- Leave to cool, make yourself a cuppa tea and enjoy!
